Define what is possible.
When people with disabilities are successfully employed, everyone wins.

Employers gain motivated employees and the respect of their community. That community becomes more integrated and gains productive, tax-paying citizens. And employees know they are valued and take pride in becoming a wage-earner, co-worker, and friend.

For over 30 years, Project Genesis has helped adults with disabilities find and keep a job. We work with employers throughout Connecticut, representing a broad range of industries and job offerings.

With funding from the Bureau of Rehabilitation Services (BRS), we provide:

Individualized career exploration and preparation

Project Genesis helps its consumers explore their interests and develop the skills necessary to get and keep a job, including social and interviewing skills, timeliness and transportation, and work safety and policy compliance.
Students transitioning from high school to employment participate in specialized career exploration and work experience opportunities.

Thorough screening to ensure a quality job match for the employer and employee

Our business partners gain motivated employees who value joining the workforce and come to work on time. They also gain respect in their community for supporting the rights of all individuals to work.

Free on-the-job training, coaching, and evaluations

Our staff members provide full on-the-job training to the employee at no cost to the employer.

A working interview lasts 1 to 2 weeks and gives the consumer a chance to do the job while the employer assesses performance. During this period, a Project Genesis Job Coach helps with training and evaluations. The employer is not charged for the working interview or job coach supports.

Access to Federal tax credits, incentives for employers and more.

Currently, a federal tax credit up to $2,400 is available to employers who hire one of our consumers.

Level Up services to create a path to employment for students with disabilities with an IEP or 504 plan.

Our Level Up services provide students with the tools, training, and resources they need to work competitively and forge their own path to independence. Working together, we build relationships between consumers, families, businesses, and the community.
